FLOWS – Legal options for women survivors
FLOWS – Finding Legal Options for Women Survivors is delivered by the Family Team of RCJ Advice, in partnership with Rights of Women.
We can provide advice about the legal options available. Please contact us if you are a front-line worker or if you are a domestic abuse survivor.
FLOWS is for organisations and the staff and volunteers that work in them, and for anyone who is a survivor of domestic abuse. If you are a member of the public wanting legal advice in relation to any other family legal matter, please use our triage form which is on our family pages.
FLOWS Consultancy is available daily 9am – 5pm on 0203 745 7707 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also use this link if you want help with completing a non-molestation order or occupation order. You will be set up with an online account. You can complete some easy to understand questions, ask our solicitors if you have any questions and then an accredited Domestic Abuse solicitor will check your form. If you are entitled to legal aid, we will link you to a local legal advice firm and their staff will check your form and offer you further legal assistance.
Visit the FLOWS website for more information and a post code search map of accredited legal aid solicitor and organisations that can support women.
Use the postcode search below to quickly find accredited FLOWS services near you.
Please find an important update from the FLOWS service, in response to the current Covid-19 situation and the impact on our clients:
We hope that you are all well and keeping safe.
COVID-19 Lock down has heightened the need to keep women safe: self-isolation has the potential to aggravate pre-existing abusive behaviours by perpetrators. While in lockdown or self-isolation, women and children are likely to be spending concentrated periods of time with perpetrators, potentially escalating the threat of domestic abuse and further restricting their freedom.
We have adapted our service in the wake of COVID-19.
New referral app
We recognise that it would be difficult for a woman isolating with her abuser to call us discreetly. In response to this, we have created a self-referral app so that women can contact us without having to call us or access an email account.
The page can be accessed here: self-referral.flows.org.uk
This is in addition to our existing referral app for statutory organisations and front-line professionals which can be found here: referral.flows.org.uk
We are also exploring other safe contact methods such as web chat, this should be live shortly.
Phone line and email consultancy
The FLOWS phone line and email consultancy remains in place. Women can contact the team between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday on;
Phone: 0203 745 7707
We have updated our website content to provide advice and assistance surrounding abuse and COVID-19. We will continue to update the content to match the latest government advice. Our service map continues to grow and provides details of local help that women can access.
